Littlewings is on the Road! It’s harvest season and art season, and we’re on tour in the great state of the Mitten.
We started last weekend with our second appearance at Art in the Park Rockford 2012. It was a total blast- I love doing that show in particular, coming back to my hometown, selling my work to the community in which I grew up, and educating them about all of the labor in dyeing, leathercraft, and cobbling. With the Rogue River and the charming town of Rockford as the backdrop, it is a beautiful day for everyone.
There was the opportunity to see lots of old friends from Rockford, and it made the day even better. Thanks to Ryan DeVries and Jeff Lewis of the Rockford Area Arts Commission for your tireless organization of the event. Thanks to Jeff Wilkinson, a fellow Rockford ’06 grad, for snapping some of the fantastic photos that are about to follow. And finally, so many thanks to the jurors, Ms. McNally and Ms. McDonald, for awarding me with “Best in Show” for the day. I am so honored to have been chosen out of all the talent that was present, and am thankful from the bottom of my heart. There is nothing like the recognition from your very first art critics in life, and who better to judge me now than my first art teachers!? Look what happened when you told me to go to SCAD, Ms. McDonland- great things, beautiful things.
Thanks, thank you, thank you!
The tour continues this coming weekend at the Eastown Streetfair and A Lot of Art at San Chez Bistro; both in Grand Rapids, MI. Stay tuned for our spot on EightWest- we had our television debut on Monday morning, and the clip will be coming up tomorrow!
It’s full throttle ahead on our Autumn Tour 2012! Winging through the Mitten we adore, with friends, family, and a whole lotta leather and love- who could ask for more in a Harvest season?!
